Croixfolk is your guide to the events and stories along the St. Croix River Valley. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or read our newsletter, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1Who we are
Croixfolk is owned and operated by Neighborbeam LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Croixfolk," "we," "us" or "our"). This policy applies to croixfolk.com, the Croixfolk newsletter, and any other place that links to this policy.

3How we use your information
- To send you the newsletter and other emails you signed up for.

- To understand what readers find useful so we can improve our website and newsletter.

4Our newsletter
We use Beehiiv to manage subscriptions and send our newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address is stored with Beehiiv, which also records whether emails are opened and which links are clicked. You can read how Beehiiv handles data in its privacy policy.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we will stop sending you the newsletter.
5Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We and the services below use cookies and similar technologies to understand how our website is used and to measure advertising.
- Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us how people use our pages through heatmaps and session recordings, such as mouse movement, scrolling and clicks. We do not use it to record what you type into forms. Learn more in the Microsoft privacy statement.
- Meta Pixel helps us measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show our ads to people who have visited our website. You can control this in your Meta ad preferences.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of our website may not work as well if you do.
6Event submissions
When you submit an event, the event details you provide, such as its name, date, location, description, images and any public contact information, may be published on our website, in our newsletter and on our social media. Please only submit information you are comfortable making public. Private contact details you give us so we can follow up with you are not published.
7Sponsors and advertisers
Croixfolk is supported by local sponsors and advertisers. We may share combined, non-identifying statistics with them, such as how many people read an issue or clicked their link. We do not sell, rent or give our subscriber list or your email address to sponsors or advertisers.
8Payments
Payments are handled by a secure third-party payment processor. Your card details go directly to that processor. We never see or store your full card number. We keep records of what was purchased, when and by whom, for accounting and tax purposes.
10How long we keep information
We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may keep a record of that so we don't email you again. We keep other information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires, such as payment records kept for tax purposes.
11Your choices and rights
You can always:
- Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email.
- Turn analytics and advertising cookies on or off on our privacy choices page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser.
- Ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
