These terms explain the rules for reading Croixfolk, subscribing to our newsletter and using
our website. Please read them along with our
Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your
information.
1Acceptance of these terms
Croixfolk is owned and operated by Neighborbeam LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company
("Croixfolk," "we," "us" or "our"). By subscribing to our newsletter, visiting croixfolk.com

confirm that you meet this requirement.
3What Croixfolk is
Croixfolk is a local guide to the events and stories along the St. Croix River Valley, on
both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the river. We publish a free weekly email
newsletter, along with content on our website and social media, and we may add other
products in the future, such as events, podcasts or paid memberships.
4Our content and copyright

on Croixfolk are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and trademark
law.
You're welcome to:
Read and enjoy our content for your own personal use.
Share links to our website and newsletter.
Quote brief excerpts, as long as you credit and link to Croixfolk.
Without our written permission, you may not:
Republish full articles, newsletters or event listings.
Copy our content onto another website, app, newsletter or feed.
Use our content for commercial purposes, including training AI models.
Remove or change any credit, copyright notice or attribution.
Please be respectful when you interact with us or our community, including when you reply
to our emails, comment on social media or submit an event. You may not harass others, send
spam, impersonate anyone, submit false or misleading information, post anything illegal,
or try to interfere with our website, such as by scraping it or signing up addresses that
aren't yours. We may remove content or block anyone who breaks these rules.
6Accuracy and disclaimers
Croixfolk is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Our content is for general
information only and is not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice. We
work to get things right, but we can't guarantee that everything we publish is complete,
current or error-free. Opinions and commentary reflect our editorial views.
7Events and outside businesses
Event dates, times, prices, locations and details can change or be cancelled by their
organizers. Please confirm with the organizer or venue before you go. Mentioning or
linking to an event, business, organization or website doesn't mean we run it, endorse it
or are responsible for it.
8Paid subscriptions and products
If we offer paid subscriptions, memberships, tickets or other products, payments are
handled by a secure third-party payment processor. Recurring subscriptions renew
automatically until you cancel. Any refund policy will be shown at the time of purchase.
We'll give you reasonable notice before changing the price of a recurring subscription.
9Sponsors and advertising
Croixfolk is supported by local sponsors and advertisers. Sponsored content is clearly
labeled, and sponsors don't control our editorial coverage. Sponsors and advertisers are
independent businesses, and we aren't responsible for their products, services, offers or
actions.
10Event submissions and tips
When you send us an event, story idea, tip, photo or other material, you give us permission
to use, edit, publish and share it in our newsletter, on our website and on social media.
You confirm that you have the right to share it, including permission from anyone pictured
or any photographer. We aren't required to publish anything you send, and we don't pay for
submissions unless we've agreed to in advance.
11Changing or ending the service
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails. We may change, pause
or stop any part of Croixfolk, and we may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these
terms. If we discontinue a paid service, we'll give reasonable notice and a prorated refund
for any unused period.
12Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Croixfolk and Neighborbeam LLC are not liable for any
indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Croixfolk. This
includes errors in our content, changed or cancelled events, service interruptions,
decisions you make based on our content, and the actions of sponsors, event organizers or
other third parties.
13Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Croixfolk and Neighborbeam LLC from any claims,
losses or expenses that arise from your breaking these terms or from material you submit
to us.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated"
date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll let subscribers know by
email. Continuing to use Croixfolk after an update means you accept the new terms.
15Dispute resolution and arbitration
Agreement to arbitrate
You and Croixfolk agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration
instead of in court, except for the exceptions below. You and we both give up the right to
a jury trial.
How arbitration works
Arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer
Arbitration Rules, in Minnesota or another location we both agree to. The arbitrator's
decision is final and binding.
No class actions
Disputes will be handled individually. You and we both give up the right to bring or take
part in a class action, consolidated action or representative action.
Exceptions
Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court, or ask a court for an
injunction or other equitable relief to protect intellectual property.
Your right to opt out
You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing
info@croixfolk.com within 30 days of first
accepting these terms. Include your name, the email address you subscribed with and a clear
statement that you're opting out of arbitration. The rest of these terms will still apply.
16Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its
conflict of law rules.
17Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms will remain
in effect.
